Trieste Dive by Vitor Regis

In January 1960, the bathyscaphe Trieste carried Jacques Piccard and Don Walsh to the bottom of the Challenger Deep, the deepest point of the ocean. The V. Regis Trieste honours that descent with a dive watch of essential lines: a 40 mm stainless steel case, a black 60-minute dive bezel and a black dial with large luminous indices and hands for reading in the dark.

The date sits at 3 o’clock under sapphire crystal, and a black rubber strap makes it light and comfortable in and out of the water. The automatic mechanical movement needs no battery, and 100 m water resistance gives confidence for swimming and shallow recreational diving — the sporty, rubber-strap counterpart to Kuroshio.
